Appraisal of Historical Items

To inquire about the value of your personal Beatrice, Bell (AT&T, Western Electric), Borden or other historical paper items or equipment, please use the following link to WhatsItWorthToYou.com.  WhatsItWorthToYou.com is independent of The Porticus Centre and have trained specialist in various categories that will help in determining the true value of your item(s).  At Porticus, we do not know the value of items, we simply are a historical database of documentation.

Repair and Maintenance of Phone Equipment (Pre-Divestiture) Western Electric, Northern Electric

To inquire about how to repair or maintain your Western Electric, Northern Electric or other pre-divestiture phone equipment, please visit the "Yellow Pages" section of the Bell System Memorial web site.  The "Yellow Pages" is also a good source to purchase older model Western Electric phones and parts.

ATTENTION CHINESE MANUFACTURERS!!

For some strange reason the Porticus Centre has been inundated with Chinese electronic, cabling and phone equipment manufactures trying to sell us

either equipment and supplies or the offer to distribute their products.  China, if you can read English, please read the following points very carefully.

1) The Porticus Centre is a historical non-profit research organization.

2) The Porticus Centre does not sell, distribute or manufacture anything, with the exception of a DVD chronicling the history of The Bell System.

3) If our organization did sell anything, we would only deal with U.S. or Canadian manufactures...NOT CHINESE!

4) The U.S. has a product called SYSTIMAX, which was once known as AT&T Premises Distribution Systems or AT&T Network Systems, and is now part of CommScope.  All of their product, either voice or data cabling, computer patch (ethernet) cords are all manufactured in the U.S. and still adhere to the same strict standards of Western Electric and continually perform research for better standards for voice and data solutions.

5) U.S. jobs come first.
